

TORONTO — As Toronto prepares to welcome thousands of visitors for the FIFA World Cup 2026™, the Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) says accessible transportation services will be available to ensure residents and international guests can travel to matches and festival events throughout the tournament.Toronto will host six FIFA World Cup matches at Toronto Stadium, located at Exhibition Place, between June 12 and July 2.
The city will also be home to the FIFA Fan Festival™ Toronto at Fort York National Historic Site and The Bentway from June 10 to July 19.The TTC confirmed that regular Wheel-Trans operations will continue without interruption during the tournament. In addition, on-demand Wheel-Trans service will be available to assist customers traveling to World Cup-related events.
Visitors who require specialized transit services are encouraged to plan ahead. Wheel-Trans trips can be booked up to seven days in advance, providing greater flexibility for fans attending matches and festival activities.In a move aimed at improving accessibility for international and out-of-town visitors, the TTC announced that people already registered with a specialized transit service in their home province, territory, or country can use Wheel-Trans services in Toronto for up to 30 days without completing a separate Wheel-Trans application.
The measure is expected to make travel easier for visitors with disabilities and mobility challenges attending one of the world’s largest sporting events.Additional information about eligibility and visitor access to Wheel-Trans services is available through the TTC’s Visitors to Toronto program on its website.The FIFA World Cup 2026™ is expected to bring hundreds of thousands of visitors to Toronto, making accessible transportation a key component of the city’s efforts to ensure an inclusive and welcoming experience for all fans.
