From June 3–5, 2026, the semi-autonomous archipelago of Zanzibar will host one of its most ambitious economic gatherings yet — the Zanzibar Investment Summit (ZIS 2026).
Organized by the Zanzibar Investment Promotion Authority (ZIPA), the summit is being marketed as a platform to attract global capital, strengthen diaspora participation, and diversify Zanzibar’s economy beyond tourism.
Zanzibar Investment Summit Under the theme “Promoting Investment Diversification for Sustainable Development in Zanzibar: Shaping Zanzibar’s Next Growth Story,” the summit signals a broader political and economic message: Zanzibar wants to be seen not only as a tourism paradise, but also as a strategic Indian Ocean investment hub.
Who Is Organizing the Summit?
The summit is led by ZIPA under Zanzibar’s Ministry of Labour, Economy and Investment. According to summit materials, the event will convene investors, policymakers, business leaders, development agencies, and diaspora entrepreneurs from across Africa, the Gulf, Europe, North America, and Asia.
